Technology staff
development is essential to a successful technology plan. The Glenwood
Community School District recognizes this essential need and has the following
goals:
 |
Ongoing revision of the long range,
staff development plan needed to meet the technology needs of the district
staff. |
 |
Ongoing assessment and revision of the
technology standards and benchmarks which are currently in use. |
In addition the district has hired a full
time Instructional Technology Coordinator whose job is to assist staff in the
integration of technology.

other qualified instructors. The following classes are being implemented:
3. Integration
of the Internet:
Participants in this class will research and evaluate student resources on the
Internet which will teach, reinforce, and/or assess student benchmarks in

match resources to district benchmarks. In addition, lesson plans and/or web
quests will be created to use with these web pages.
4. Rigor
and Relevance in the Classroom:
Participants will use the 21st century skills of digital literacy,
inventive thinking, effective communication, and high productivity to create
technology integrated lesson plans for students.
Ongoing Staff Development
